Biography

Danny Ledonne is a highly accomplished film professional with a rich educational background. He graduated from Emerson College's esteemed BA film program in Boston and later earned his MFA in Film/Electronic Media from American University in Washington, D.C.

Since 1998, Danny has been dedicated to exploring the power of moving images, producing a wide range of films and projects that showcase his versatility and expertise. His interest in wildlife filmmaking led to the creation of "Wild Animals, Domesticated Humans," a short documentary that examines the purposes and challenges of zoological parks. This film was distributed by the National Film Network.

As a seasoned professional, Danny has worked in various capacities on numerous projects, including camera and grip/electric departments, director of photography, editor, and producer. His extensive experience has earned him recognition for his work on several award-winning short films, and he has also shot and edited a short documentary in the wilderness of east Africa.

In addition to his impressive filmography, Danny has also ventured into interactive video series, comedy, and documentary filmmaking. His feature directorial debut, "Playing Columbine," premiered at AFIFest, while his recent projects include "Duck - A Duckumentary," a comedy about the complex relationship between humans and waterfowl, and "The Galapagos Game," an interactive video series for middle school students about the delicate biological food web of the Galapagos Islands.

Born and raised in Colorado, Danny has a unique blend of skills and experiences outside of film. He has taught Tae Kwon Do, worked as a DJ for a community radio station, and has also been involved in various other ventures, including owning and operating Emberwilde Productions, serving as executive media producer for Reel Video Productions, and working as videoproducer/editor for the Ocean Media Center at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Throughout his career, Danny has taught media production at various institutions, including Adams State College, Fairfax Collegiate Summer Program, International Film Academy of Jackson Hole, National Marine Sanctuaries, Center for Environmental Filmmaking, and Intel Computer Clubhouse.

In his free time, Danny enjoys snowshoeing into the wilderness, finding it a more rewarding experience than skiing.
