Danilo Acquisto is a dynamic TV presenter, hosting the popular Afternoon Express program, as well as a radio presenter on Good Hope FM, where he brings an abundance of energy and passion to his work.
Born and raised in Johannesburg, Danilo attended St Stithians College, where he excelled academically, earning five distinctions, and led his peers as a prefect. After completing high school, he sought out new challenges, leading him to Cape Town in 2010, where he pursued a BA Law degree at UCT.
During his time at UCT, Danilo hosted the afternoon drive show on UCT Radio and, in 2010, entered a presenter search for a television show on SABC2, Hectic Nine-9, ultimately winning the coveted role of lead presenter, presenting to an audience of over 3 million viewers daily. He also produced for the show on a regular basis.
In 2015, Danilo emerged as one of the three winners of the #PresenterSearchOn3, joining the Afternoon Express team on SABC3, alongside Bonang Matheba, Jeannie D, and Bonnie Mbuli.
Between his television commitments, Danilo worked as a Development Producer, creating new concepts for a production company, and acted as a Production Assistant on an international cooking show for the Food Network.
Danilo's media presence extends beyond television, as he currently hosts his own radio shows on Good Hope FM, #MusicLab, every Saturday and Sunday between 12 and 3 pm, focusing on dance music on Saturdays and a more laid-back vibe on Sundays, complete with song requests and social media engagement.
In addition to his media roles, Danilo is a social entrepreneur, advocate for hope in the youth and digital media, official ambassador for Iris House Children's Hospital, and Chairman of the Youth Chaplaincy Committee for the Youth Office of the Western Arch Diocese. He also directs Life Choices, sits on the board, and leads Genesis and Life Teen groups at his church, having recently combined his social entrepreneurship and faith to create The Curious Catholic, a platform for young people to explore their faith, listen to music, read inspiring testimonies, and access links to cool websites and videos.
Danilo's confidence, outgoing nature, and authentic on-air personality make him a sought-after MC for events and voice-over artist for advertising campaigns and corporate work, which he performs regularly.
