Biography

Daniel was born in 1981 and grew up near Reading in England. He developed a passion for animation at the age of ten and began creating his own animated stories with school friends. He edited these early works on a VCR, laying the foundation for his future endeavors.

As a young boy, Daniel was fascinated by live-action narratives and spent his free time filming and editing his own short films with his friends. His first experience on a professional film set was as an extra in the 1998 film "The Land Girls," starring Rachel Weisz, Catherine McCormack, and Anna Friel.

In 2004, Daniel met his future filmmaking partner, Rishi Thaker, on a community film course. They quickly hatched a plan to create a short, zero-budget horror film, "A Mid-Summer Nightmare," and began filming just a few days later. This marked the birth of Stickmen Pictures, a production company that would go on to produce several short films, including "The Darkness in the Fields" and "Across The Styx."

Daniel's talent and dedication did not go unnoticed. In 2005, he was selected to attend a prestigious residential course at ARTTS Skillcentre in Yorkshire, a renowned center of excellence founded by the world-renowned director John Sichel. Although the center closed shortly after, Daniel's experience there was invaluable.

Over the years, Daniel has worked on a variety of projects, including documentaries, music videos, and commercials. He even spent six months working as a cameraman for a shopping channel, honing his skills and building his portfolio.

The opportunity to work on his first feature film came in 2011 with "A Reckoning," directed by Andrew David Barker. Daniel worked as cameraman alongside the project's diverse actor, Leslie Simpson, known for his roles in "Dog Soldiers" and "The Descent." The experience was a challenging but rewarding one, as Daniel worked 14-hour days for two weeks in some of the coldest conditions England has ever seen.

Daniel has also pioneered an interactive live-action video format and has entertained audiences with his and Rishi's "The Plumber." He has appeared on several television shows, including "The One Show," "Watchdog," and "How to Look Good Naked."

In 2010, Daniel began working as a producer on the feature film "Slaughter Is the Best Medicine," a zero-budget action thriller shot in Derbyshire. The film follows a group of mercenaries as they attempt to capture a turncoat scientist in enemy territory. The project has generated significant interest from distribution companies in both the U.S.A and the U.K, and Stickmen Pictures continues to grow and evolve.
