Daniel Gilchrist's passion for acting originated in his high school days, where his initial interests lay in production and writing. Following his graduation, he dedicated himself to working and volunteering for local theatre productions in his hometown of Topeka, Kansas. His first starring role was a notable one, as he took on the role of The Creature in Topeka Civic Theatre and Academy's production of Frankenstein. He went on to secure featured roles in a diverse range of productions, including Macbeth, Scrooge, Arsenic and Old Lace, The Tempest, The Addams Family, and To Kill a Mockingbird. In 2012, he graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelor's degree in Theatre.
Daniel's transition from the theatre to film was marked by his portrayal of the titular character in Beast of the Water. He also made a significant impact in the acclaimed film Chained for Life, where he played the role of Demby, a sideshow giant. In Omniboat, he voiced the main/dolphin creature, with the iconic Robert Redford lending his voice to the project.
Daniel's love for the theatre can be attributed to his older brother, Brendan Gilchrist, who tragically passed away in 2007.
