Person Biography:
Daniel was born and raised in London, England, before moving to Saskatchewan, Canada in his teens. He comes from a family immersed in show business, with his mother, Tessa Shaw, an actress, and his father, George Fathers, a respected scenic designer.
As a child, Daniel was a professional athlete, playing rugby and bull riding, and later became a soldier. He is a skilled horseman and expert swordsman, having trained at the British Action Academy.
Before pursuing a career in acting, Daniel trained as a dancer at the Ballet Rambert and Central School of Dance. He made his stage debut in the Tony Award-winning musical "Mamma Mia!" playing two leads, Bill Austin and Harry Bright, in the Toronto company.
Daniel's early acting credits include starring in Disney's "Camp Rock" movies opposite the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato, playing the role of Brown Cessario, an old-time rock 'n' roller and uncle of the Jonas Brothers. He has also appeared in a number of films and television shows, including "The Dark Tower," "Snatch," "Heartland," "Reign," and "Orphan Black."
In addition to his acting work, Daniel has presented at the Canadian Screen Awards and hosted several television shows, including "Canada's Greatest Know It All" for Discovery.
Throughout his career, Daniel has been recognized for his performances, including a nomination for "Outstanding Performance, Film/TV" at the 2020 ACTRA Awards and an invitation to be a juror for the 2021 ACTRA AWARDS.
