Dan Rybicky is a renowned filmmaker and educator who dedicates his work to sharing the stories of Americans, thereby fostering profound discussions about the significance of art, education, health, and care.
As a producer and co-director, Dan collaborated with ITVS/Kartemquin Films on the critically-acclaimed feature documentary "Almost There", which received widespread distribution in theaters, digitally, and on public television in 2016.
Dan's most recent short documentary, "Accident, MD", garnered Vimeo's Best of the Year Award and garnered praise in The New Yorker, with national broadcast on PBS/Independent Lens.
Prior to his career, Dan earned his Bachelor of Arts at Vassar College and Master of Fine Arts at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
He has also worked with and consulted for renowned filmmakers Martin Scorsese, John Sayles, and John Leguizamo in various production capacities.
Dan's upcoming short documentaries, "Larry from Gary" and "Stormy and the Admirals", which explore the stories of a dance teacher in Gary, Indiana, and a group of elderly feminists from Chicago who attend a Stormy Daniels strip show, respectively, are set to premiere in 2020.
