Dan Rizzuto is a 23-year veteran of the film industry, boasting an impressive portfolio that spans every aspect of movie making. His journey into Hollywood began with his extensive martial arts experience, which led to his discovery on the set of James Cameron's hit TV show Dark Angel, where he was responsible for bodyguarding Jessica Alba.
Dan's transition from on-set muscle to on-set performer was seamless, as he quickly progressed from background work to stunts and eventually to action and fight choreography. His hunger for knowledge and a willingness to take on new challenges led him to be hired as a stunt cameraman through Local 669, where he would shoot stunt sequences that other camera operators were unwilling to attempt.
As a fight choreographer, Dan's work has been the cornerstone of several notable shows, including Netflix's Wu Assassin, Van Helsing, and Marvel's upcoming Helstrom. His expertise has made him a go-to stunt coordinator for companies like Netflix, Marvel, Disney, and Hulu.
Dan's passion for creating memorable work has driven him to 2nd Unit Direct numerous films and has now ventured into directing. As a full member of the Directors Guild of America (DGA) and the Directors Guild of Canada (DGC),Dan has written, produced, and directed a powerful feature film that has garnered multiple awards on the festival circuit, including "Best Feature Film" at two festivals and "Best Director" at the Hollywood Film Award festival.
His feature film, "Torn: Dark Bullets," is licensed to Amazon Prime Video, BET+, and UrbanFlix TV, showcasing his dedication to creating projects that go beyond mere entertainment. Dan is currently writing, optioning, and pitching TV shows and features, eager to bring his vast film knowledge to the creative arena of film and television.
With his extensive network of industry talents, knowledge, and incredible creativity, Dan is poised to bring never-before-seen shots and powerful, action-packed stories to the screen.
