Dan Ewald and Rajeev Sigamoney began their writing and producing partnership with "The Room," a spec pilot shot on a single weekend in 2004 on the CBS Radford lot. This project, co-starring Tony Hale, Debra Jo Rupp, and Laura Silverman, successfully landed them representation with Endeavor.
The duo continued to build their talent base by creating a spec pilot titled "The Captain," starring Jennifer Coolidge, Wanda Sykes, Cheryl Hines, and Kathy Griffin. Following the pilot's completion, they signed a deal with Hazy Mills and Paramount, which took the project out to networks. Ewald and Sigamoney also wrote and produced a segment of "The Jimmy Kimmel Show" featuring the character Tim Bagley and his wife Nedra, played by Mindy Sterling, which aired on ABC in 2007.
The pair went on to write for the Disney Channel and sold a comedy pilot to FUSE before executive producing a 10-episode series for Comcast called "The Mascots" with a near-$1 million dollar budget.
In addition, they independently shot the web series "Jesus People" for a significantly lower budget, which surprisingly garnered 500,000 YouTube viewers and spawned the feature film "Jesus People: The Movie." The film was a major hit on the festival circuit in 2009, playing at various events across the United States, including the Friar's Club Comedy Festival in New York City, the L.A. Film Festival, and numerous other stops in Tennessee, Michigan, Montana, and Florida. "Jesus People: The Movie" is currently represented by Spy Filmz.
