Damir Catic is a renowned feature and short film director, boasting an impressive array of accolades and achievements in the film industry. Among his notable accomplishments, he has won the prestigious Gold Remi Award at the World Fest 46, as well as the top prize at the Regal Short Film Showdown.
With a career spanning over two decades, Damir has worked in film marketing for Regal Entertainment Group since 1999, earning numerous awards for his feature film promotions. His extensive portfolio includes campaigns for blockbuster films such as Batman Begins, Robots, Superman Returns, Charlotte's Web, and Talladega Nights, among many others.
Damir's short film, "The Lost," took home the coveted Platinum Remi Award, while his script for the feature-length film "The Other Side" was officially selected for the World Fest 47 Script Competition.
In 2018, Damir received the esteemed Local Cinematic Film Achievement award from the Houston Film Critic Society. Additionally, he co-founded Dark Lightning Films alongside Eric Alfio Jafari and Ron Gelner, with several projects currently in development, including a supernatural feature film and "The La Llorona Curse," set for release by Wild Eye Releasing in 2019.
Damir's body of work also includes several short films, such as "Dark Presence," which won the Regal Short Film Showdown, as well as "Hitchhiker," "Dare," and "Something In Between." The latter, a drama, marks Damir's debut as a producer.
In addition to his creative endeavors, Damir is the driving force behind the Houston Horrorthon, a yearly charity-based film festival where attendees can gain free admission by donating blood and food.
