Daisy Hilton

Daisy and her conjoined twin sister Violet Hilton, born to a barmaid, were raised by the midwife who delivered them, Mary Hilton. Mary, perceiving an opportunity, trained the curly-haired babies to perform, mistreating them and keeping them in a state of poverty until they took matters into their own hands at the age of 23. The girls arranged a private meeting with a lawyer, thus gaining control over their careers and becoming their own managers. As popular vaudeville performers, they thrived until the rise of motion pictures led to the decline of live shows. They went on to appear in films such as "Freaks" (1932) and "Chained for Life" (1952). However, as the years went by, Daisy and Violet's popularity waned, and they eventually succumbed to poverty and obscurity. Their employer, a grocer, discovered their lifeless bodies in their apartment when they failed to show up for work, leaving behind no known survivors.
