Cynthia Ettinger, a native Californian, has been a stalwart member of the esteemed "The Actors' Gang" for nearly three decades, serving as the company's Co-Artistic Director and Master Teacher. Her acting career began with a film appearance in "Martians, Go Home", marking the starting point of her extensive journey in the world of cinema.
Throughout her tenure with the company, Cynthia has directed numerous plays, including five recent Shakespeare adaptations, presented as part of the company's Free Shakespeare in the Park for family-oriented program. This initiative has enabled her to inspire and entertain over ten thousand children and adults, utilizing the timeless works of Shakespeare to captivate diverse audiences.
One of Cynthia's most notable film appearances is in the critically acclaimed "Silence of the Lambs", a testament to her versatility and range as an actress. Her extensive experience with "The Actors' Gang" has led to her involvement in a wide range of productions, including "The Seagull", "Mephisto", "Self-Defense", "Red Noses", and "Carnage: A Comedy".
In addition to her work in film and theater, Cynthia has also ventured into television, having auditioned for the role of Martha Kent in the pilot of the popular series "Smallville". Although she ultimately lost the role to Annette O'Toole, this experience serves as a reminder of the opportunities and challenges that come with pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.
