Cy Kuckenbaker, a talented filmmaker, earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in film direction from the prestigious California Institute of the Arts in 2006.
Prior to his academic achievement, Cy received a Fulbright Fellowship in 2004, recognizing his exceptional talent.
From 2000 to 2002, he dedicated two years of his life to serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Lithuania, an experience that undoubtedly shaped his perspective and artistic vision.
As a film director, Cy has crafted a diverse portfolio of fiction and documentary films that have been showcased at numerous renowned film festivals worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Los Angeles International Film Festival, the Vancouver International Film Festival, the Viennale, and many more.
In addition to his film work, Cy has also created innovative experimental videos that have garnered significant online attention from prominent platforms such as USA Today, The Atlantic magazine, Designboom, Journal Du Design, and more.
In 2013, Cy was awarded the San Diego Foundation's Creative Catalyst Grant, which enabled him to collaborate with the Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego, on a one-year project.
Most recently, Cy's work was featured in the artbook PhotoViz, published by Gestalten and edited by Nicholas Felton, which highlights the latest advancements in photo visualization.
