He left home at 16, hitchhiking to Florida and later to Hollywood, where he became a model, singer, and actor.
Price's early career was marked by small roles in films and television shows, including a part in the blaxsploitation film "Baby Needs a New Pair of Shoes." He also appeared on "The Dick Clark Show" and in advertisements, but his big break never materialized. After his portfolio was stolen, Price lost his motivation to continue working in the entertainment industry.

After his mother's passing, he moved into an apartment in Victoria, where he began practicing music again. He wrote a list of songs on a dry-erase board and started playing his keyboard every day.
