Biography

Professor Craig S. Keener is the F. M. and Ada Thompson Professor of Biblical Studies at Asbury Theological Seminary, where he is highly regarded for his extensive expertise in biblical studies. Notably, Keener is the author of the award-winning, widely acclaimed "IVP Bible Background Commentary: New Testament" published in 1993, as well as numerous other commentaries that meticulously place the New Testament within its early Jewish and Greco-Roman historical contexts. Throughout his illustrious career, Keener has authored an impressive 25 books, with more than a million copies in circulation worldwide. Additionally, he has published a staggering 70 academic articles and over 170 popular ones, solidifying his reputation as a prominent and prolific scholar in the field.
