Corey Omar was born and raised in Dorchester, Massachusetts, a diverse and vibrant neighborhood within Boston. His parents, hailing from Barbados, instilled in him a winning mindset from a young age, emphasizing the importance of hard work and dedication to achieve success. This philosophy has remained a cornerstone of Corey's approach to life and acting, driving him to set an example of excellence for his friends and family.
As a child, Corey discovered his passion for performing, whether it was creating characters for homemade videos or playing the clarinet in school band performances. He found joy in entertaining audiences, and a pivotal moment came when he impersonated James Brown during a second-grade concert, sparking his interest in acting.
Although performing was a lifelong passion, football consumed most of his free time outside of school for many years, temporarily putting acting on the backburner. However, an injury during his senior year at Springfield College forced him to reevaluate his priorities, and he began to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. He landed lead roles in college theatre productions, earning rave reviews for his performances.
Since graduating with a degree in business management and an MBA, Corey has been determined to succeed in the film industry. He has been auditioning, attending networking events, and honing his marketing skills, utilizing his education to run his acting career like a business. Additionally, he founded his own production company, "Corey Omar Productions," which has achieved significant success.
Corey has also been training with renowned professionals, including Dustin Felder, Carolyn Pickman, Michael Fennimore, and Steve Blackwood. His hard work and focus have already yielded results, securing him representation with Model Club, Inc. and principal roles in independent films such as "District C-11," "Theory of Conflict," "Become God," and "Plaga Zombie American Invasion."
When not acting, Corey enjoys weight training, running, cycling, boxing, football, basketball, reading, watching movies, and exploring business and marketing strategies.
