Colin Andrew Mochrie, a talented individual, was born on November 30, 1957, in Kilmarnock, Scotland. His father, a high-ranking airline maintenance executive, made the significant decision to relocate the family to Montreal, Canada, in 1964, and eventually to Vancouver in 1969.
As a result of this frequent relocation, Mochrie often found himself to be a bit of a loner during his childhood. However, he also shared that he was a typical kid, engaging in typical childhood activities such as fighting with his younger brother, being protective of his younger sister, and getting into mischief. After dropping out of school in British Columbia, Mochrie discovered his passion for theater sports, which led him to meet his long-time friend, Ryan Stiles.
In 1989, Mochrie tied the knot with comedian Debra McGrath, and the couple welcomed a daughter, Kinley Mochrie, into their family. Prior to joining the British comedy improv show Whose Line Is It Anyway? in 1988, Mochrie worked at the renowned Second City in Toronto.
Mochrie's impressive career has spanned both television and stage, with notable roles in the American version of Whose Line Is It Anyway? in 1998, as well as the popular sitcom The Drew Carey Show, in which he played the recurring character Eugene Anderson. He has also made a name for himself on the stage, starring in productions such as "She Stoops to Conquer" and "The Brady Bunch."
In addition to his work in television and theater, Mochrie has also written and starred in the Canadian comedy series Supertown Challenge in 1998, as well as the sitcom Blackfly in 2001.
