Cody Jarrett is a multi-talented individual, exceling as a director, writer, and producer based in Los Angeles. His journey in Hollywood began early, with a supporting role in the 20th Century Fox comedy classic "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane," starring Andrew "Dice" Clay.
Initially a musician in Tampa Bay, Cody's passion for filmmaking led him to make his feature directorial debut with "Frogman," a cult classic that received widespread acclaim in Japan and the United States. The film's success was marked by a festival win, publicity stunts, and a memorable appearance on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno," securing its place in the pantheon of classic B-movies.
Cody's follow-up feature, "Sugar Boxx," was an homage to the women-in-prison films of the 1970s, starring Pam Grier. The film received critical acclaim, particularly from the LGBTQ community, who appreciated its realistic portrayal of lesbian lead characters. "Sugar Boxx" experienced a significant resurgence during the pandemic, accumulating an astonishing 32 million views. An updated version of the film is set for release in 2025.
In fall 2024, Cody completed the authorized documentary "TURA!," which explores the life of legendary Asian American actress Tura Satana, known for her iconic role in the Russ Meyer classic "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" The documentary features executive producer and narrator Margaret Cho, along with John Waters, Dita Von Teese, Pamela Des Barres, and others. "TURA!" is scheduled to premiere at the 2024 San Diego Asian Film Festival, followed by a theatrical and streaming release in early 2025.
Cody is also a member of the pop-glam band Teen Machine, which includes actress Amanda Foreman, Jim Bacchi, and Johnny Cornwell. Additionally, he is an editor and member of the Hollywood Editors Guild, IATSE Local 700.
