Biography

A long-time resident of Portland, Oregon, having made the city her home for an extended period of time.

Originally from Idaho, where she was raised, she later attended the University of Idaho, receiving a higher education from this esteemed institution.

Upon completing her studies, she went on to earn a degree from The Harvard School of Business, further enhancing her professional qualifications.

Throughout her career, she held administrative positions at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, as well as the Bio-Informatics Center in Portland.

In her personal life, she was actively involved in various community pursuits, including the restoration of her historic home, gardening, and supporting public education as a board member with Portland Public Schools.

She is survived by her loving husband and two children, who will deeply miss her presence in their lives.

Cody and her family also played a significant role in the production of the documentary film "How To Die In Oregon", which explored the controversial topic of assisted suicide and her personal struggle with terminal liver cancer.

Ultimately, she chose to exercise her legal right to die by state-sanctioned lethal cocktail at home, surrounded by her family, in December 2009.
