Claudiu Trandafir, a talented individual, was born in Constanta, a charming town situated along the Romanian Black Sea Coast. His journey in the world of acting began during his teenage years.
In 1989, Claudiu had the privilege of working with renowned playwright Caryl Churchill and director Mark Wing Davey in Bucharest. Together, they conducted research, devised, and developed the highly acclaimed original production of "Mad Forest - a Play from Romania" in 1990. The play premiered at Central School Of Speech and Drama, London, in June 1990, followed by performances at the National Theatre in Bucharest in September and a six-week run at The Royal Court in London in October.
Claudiu then relocated to London and enrolled in the Acting course at Arts Educational Schools London in 1991. He made his stage debut in London in Arts Threshold's production of Peter Weis' "The Investigation," directed by Johnathan Chadwick, in 1993.
Upon his return to Romania in 1994, Claudiu worked with the National Theatre of Craiova and embarked on a world tour with "The Danaides," directed by Silviu Purcarete, in 1996.
In 1997, Claudiu co-founded "The 777 Theatre Company" with theatre director Theodor Cristian Popescu. The company produced and directed national premieres of notable plays, including Mark Meddof's "Children of a Lesser God," Tony Kushner's "Angels in America," and Biliana Srblianovic's "A Belgrade Trilogy." These productions were staged on the best stages in Romania and received critical acclaim.
Throughout his career, Claudiu has had numerous roles and appearances in American, British, and Romanian film and television productions.
