Clare, the third child of a large Irish family, was raised in Manchester, North West UK. Growing up amidst a background of singing, dancing, and general entertaining, it was only natural for her to pursue her passion for the performing arts and train to become an actress. As Clare humorously remarks, "Everyone acts and entertains in my family. Just lucky to get paid for it."
Following her graduation from Bretton Hall College of Performing Arts, Clare began her career by training adult special needs groups in drama and directing youth groups at Bradford Playhouse Theatre. She eventually made the transition to professional actress, with her major break coming as the feisty Pc. Natalie Metcalfe in the award-winning drama "The Cops," produced by the legendary Tony Garnett, renowned for his work on "Cathy Come Home," "Kes," and "This Life."
Since then, Clare's career has flourished, with her consistently striving to maintain a balance between her roles on screen and stage, reflecting her commitment to both mediums. She has been known to test her opening-night nerves by taking on wordy stage scripts, relishing the opportunity to terrify herself with the challenge.
