Claire Cartwright's early life was marked by a unique blend of experiences, with her childhood spent splitting time between North Yorkshire and Uganda. This diverse upbringing likely played a significant role in shaping her artistic inclinations, which were later nurtured through her involvement with the Youth Theatre Company, Livewire.
Following her stint with the theatre company, Claire pursued her passion for the arts by studying English Literature at Edinburgh University. Her academic endeavors ultimately led her to The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London, where she honed her craft through a rigorous training program.
Upon graduating in 2010, Claire joined the national tour and West End production of Lee Hall's The Pitmen Painters, marking the beginning of her professional career in the entertainment industry. This initial foray into the world of theatre was merely the precursor to a wide-ranging and diverse array of stage and screen productions that would follow.
Some of Claire's most notable roles include her turn as the lead in the West End production of Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap, as well as her portrayal of the feisty female juvenile lead in Thark at the Park Theatre, directed by Eleanor Rhode and starring Clive Francis. Her impressive resume also includes a stint as Mum opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in Dylan Southern's The Thing With Feathers, which premiered at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival.
