Cindy Morgan, an actress of considerable renown, is perhaps best recognized for her iconic roles in Caddyshack (1980) as the captivating and flirtatious Lacey Underall, and in Tron (1982) as the enigmatic Yori.
Born Cynthia Ann Cichorski on September 29, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, not far from the legendary Wrigley Field, Cindy was the daughter of a Polish factory worker and a German mother. She attended 12 years of Catholic school and was the first in her family to pursue a college education.
During her time at Northern Illinois University, where she was studying communications, Cindy began spinning records on the radio. A local commercial station took notice of her talent and requested her to report the news, prompting her to adopt the pseudonym Cindy Morgan, which she derived from a story she read about Morgan le Fay when she was just 12 years old.
Following her graduation, Cindy ventured into the world of television, providing the latest meteorological updates on a TV station in Rockford, Illinois. She also maintained her connection to radio by working the graveyard shift at a local rock station. Later, she returned to Chicago and deejayed on WSDM (now WLUP),before famously quitting on the air during a labor dispute and walking out with a record still spinning on the turntable.
Cindy's next move was to join auto shows for Fiat, which took her to both coasts. She eventually settled in Los Angeles in 1978 and became the Irish Spring girl. While working on TV commercials, she honed her acting skills and was eventually rewarded with her first screen role in Caddyshack, playing the memorable part of Lacey Underall, an over-amorous ingénue.
