Christopher Sands was discovered at the tender age of sixteen by the renowned Casting Director Shari Rhodes, who entrusted him with the pivotal role of Lifeguard in Steven Spielberg's iconic film JAWS. This transformative experience instilled in him a deep passion for the film industry, leading him to relocate to Los Angeles after graduating from Harvard College in 1979 with a degree in Russian History.
Following his graduation, Sands joined ABC News as a Desk Assistant, where he honed his skills and laid the groundwork for a successful career in film production. His subsequent stint with producer/director John Rich saw him working at 20th Century Fox and ABC Television, before being promoted to Assistant Producer on the hit television series Benson, starring the talented Robert Guillaume.
Sands then collaborated with Writer/Director Djordje Milicevic on the film Riding Fast, starring the captivating Meg Foster. This experience was followed by a tenure at Ohlmeyer Productions/RJR Nabisco, where he occupied various creative and production roles, including Associate Producer, on a range of projects.
These projects included the television series Hollywood's Most Sensational Mysteries on NBC, as well as films such as Crime of Innocence, starring Andy Griffith, Under Siege, starring Peter Strauss, Bluffing It, starring Dennis Weaver, and Right to Die, starring Raquel Welch.
In 1988, Sands made the decision to leave Hollywood and pursue a new path as a film producer and communications executive at the Harvard University School of Public Health. During his time at the institution, he produced, directed, and wrote several short documentaries and public health PSA's focused on the HIV pandemic, utilizing his skills to make a positive impact on the world.
