Biography

Christopher Rich, a talented actor, is widely recognized for his iconic portrayal of Miller Redfield, the lovable yet dim-witted anchorman on the hit television show Murphy Brown, which premiered in 1988. Born in Dallas, Texas, Rich's passion for acting was initially sparked by a high school teacher who encouraged him to channel his energetic and rowdy tendencies into a career in the performing arts, rather than protesting the Vietnam War.

Rich's academic background in acting is impressive, having attended the University of Texas and later Cornell University, where he earned a master's degree in theater arts. He honed his craft by performing in numerous stage productions, including a notable turn as Dionysus in The Bacchae on Broadway. Rich's extensive experience in regional and off-Broadway productions has allowed him to showcase his versatility as an actor.

To support his passion for playwriting, Rich joined the cast of the popular soap opera Another World, playing the role of Alexander "Sandy" Cory for four years. He later relocated to Los Angeles, where he has made numerous television appearances, including a series regular role on The George Carlin Show and a notable guest spot on Murphy Brown.

Rich's film credits include starring roles in The Joy Luck Club, Flight of the Intruder, and Prisoners of Inertia. He has also appeared in several television movies, including Going Home, opposite the legendary Jason Robards. Rich's most recent project, The Gambler IV, marked his first collaboration with Reba McEntire and solidified their friendship.

When not working, Rich enjoys a range of hobbies, including collecting fine wines, playing golf, and reading and collecting books. He is married to Eva Halina Rich, a former Miss Poland and Olympic gymnast who represented Poland at the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
