Christopher Corey Smith, a multifaceted American creative, was born in Redwood City, California to Gladys Jenkins, a banker, and Hal Smith, a commercial photographer, whose Welsh, Irish, and English heritage undoubtedly influenced his artistic pursuits.
As a classically trained actor, Smith attended the prestigious American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, and later founded and served as artistic director of his own Shakespeare company in Los Angeles.
Throughout his illustrious career, Smith has made appearances on television and in film, but he is most notably recognized for his extensive work in voice-over, lending his voice to hundreds of animated projects, commercials, and video games.
Some of his most iconic roles include The Joker in Lego Batman, Luke Skywalker in Phineas and Ferb, and Race Bannon in Jonny Quest. His early exposure to voice-over was largely influenced by Ginny Tyler, a former Mousketeer and Disney legend, who narrated the Disney Storybook Albums he listened to as a child.
Smith has also had the privilege of studying under the tutelage of Daws Butler, renowned as the 'king' of Hanna-Barbera voices. In addition to his voice-over work, Smith has been actively involved in the augmented reality game Ingress since 2012, portraying the adventurous Dr. Hank Johnson.
In his personal life, Smith has been married to the talented Broadway star and voice-over artist Cindy Robinson since 2022, marking a significant milestone in his life.
