Christine's earliest beginnings were marked by her birth in a Salford street, a location that bore striking resemblance to the iconic setting of the beloved British television series "Coronation Street". She then pursued her passion for the performing arts by enrolling at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA),where she diligently worked towards earning an Honours Diploma.

After completing her studies, Christine embarked on a career-defining journey as an understudy with the esteemed Old Vic theatre company, touring extensively and gaining invaluable experience in the process. Prior to joining the original cast of "Coronation Street" in 1960, Christine had already honed her craft by working on the Granada drama series "Skyport", a production that would later become a breeding ground for many future "Coronation Street" actors.
