Biography

Christina Rene Hendricks, a talented actress, was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, and spent her formative years in Twin Falls, Idaho. Her father, Robert, a native of England, worked diligently for the U.S. Forest Service, while her mother, Jackie Sue (Raymond),a psychologist, contributed to the family's well-being. When Christina was just 13 years old, her father's career took a new direction, and the family relocated to Fairfax, Virginia, where the U.S. Forest Service Washington, D.C. headquarters was based.

Christina's interest in acting began to flourish during her school days, and she soon transitioned into modeling, a career path she pursued from the ages of 18 to 27. As she entered her early twenties, she started making appearances on television, landing recurring roles in notable shows such as Beggars and Choosers in 2000 and Kevin Hill in 2004. However, it was her breakout role as Joan Harris in the critically acclaimed series Mad Men in 2007 that catapulted her to international fame.

In addition to her numerous Emmy nominations and SAG Award wins, Christina has also received recognition for her work in other genres. She won a SyFy Genre Award for "Best Special Guest/Television" for her role as Saffron in Joss Whedon's short-lived but memorable series Firefly in 2002.
