Christina Chang, a talented individual, was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, by her Chinese-Filipino father and American mother. Her formative years were shaped by her multicultural upbringing, which would later influence her artistic pursuits.
At the tender age of 17, Chang made the bold decision to relocate to the United States, where she enrolled in Theatre & Film studies in her mother's home state of Kansas. Her academic endeavors eventually led her to the University of Washington in Seattle, where she earned a Master of Fine Arts degree.
During her time at the University of Washington, Chang landed her first professional acting job in the play "Naomi's Road" at the Seattle Children's Theater. This breakthrough role marked the beginning of her journey in the entertainment industry. She subsequently gained valuable experience by participating in the off-Broadway production of Tina Landau's "The Trojan Women."
Chang's transition to New York City proved to be a catalyst for her career, as she began to secure guest and recurring roles on various television programs, including Cosby, Guiding Light, and As the World Turns. Her film credits include Random Hearts (1999),28 Days (2000),Deadline (2000),and Girls Club (2002). Additionally, she hosted the travel documentary series Globe Trekker, also known as Globe Trekker (1994).
Beyond her professional pursuits, Chang is a multifaceted individual with a range of interests. She shares a passion for working with children, inspired by her mother's career as a school counselor. Chang is also fluent in Mandarin Chinese, has studied the trapeze, and is drawn to social work.
