Christiane Vera Felscherinow, born on May 20, 1962, in Hamburg, Germany, is a multifaceted individual with a remarkable career spanning writing, acting, and music. Her journey to recognition began in Berlin in 1978, when she testified in a trial against a man who engaged in sexual activities with underage girls in exchange for heroin. Two journalists who attended the trial were deeply moved by Christiane's testimony and decided to interview her for two months about her life as a teenage drug-user and sex worker.
The resulting series of articles, published in the reputable German magazine Stern in 1979, garnered significant attention and sparked widespread interest in Christiane's story. Later that year, Stern published the book "Christiane F. - Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo", which further cemented her status as a public figure. In 1981, the film adaptation of Christiane F was directed by Uli Edel, featuring a young Natja Brunckhorst in the lead role, with David Bowie making a cameo appearance and providing the soundtrack.
