Chris Roland's Biography:
Chris Roland is a veteran of the entertainment industry, with a career spanning thirty-five years. Born in Los Angeles, he left his hometown in 1992 to backpack around the world, visiting forty countries over the course of three years. He eventually settled in Cape Town, South Africa, where he has made his home.
Chris has been involved in over eighty productions, including films, television shows, and music videos. His credits include producing and directing the TV sitcom "Help Wanted," writing, directing, and producing the virtual reality ride film "Cape Extreme," and producing and directing the Sid Shanti music video for Phantasm Records.
In 1997, Chris co-founded "The Imaginarium" and "South African Film Finance Corporation" with his partner Izidore Codron. Under this banner, he produced the National Geographic World War I docudrama "Jungle Navy" and five episodes of the science fiction series "Lexx."
Chris has also produced several feature films, including "The Bone Snatcher," "Stander," "3 Needles," and "1968 Tunnel Rats." He has also written, produced, and directed the award-winning reality TV series "Our House" and the award-winning film "Darfur (Attack on Darfur)."
In addition to his work in film and television, Chris has been involved in music and has written and produced the soundtracks for several of his productions. He has also been a disc jockey and has worked as a producer and director for various music projects.
Chris has been recognized for his contributions to the film industry, including being nominated for an Oscar, BAFTA, and Golden Globe for his work on the film "Hotel Rwanda." He has also won numerous awards for his films and television shows.
In his free time, Chris enjoys hiking and has climbed several of the world's highest mountains. He is also a passionate advocate for social justice and has worked with various organizations to support causes such as education and healthcare for underprivileged children.
Chris continues to work in the entertainment industry, both as a producer and director, and as a consultant to the global entertainment industry. He is also a published author, having released his first book, "It's Not Personal - Letting Go and Gaining an Island," in 2018.
