Biography

Chisom Oz-lee is a multifaceted individual, excelling in various fields such as filmmaking, producing, scriptwriting, acting, teaching, and nursing. Her passion for acting began during her secondary school years, and she was born in Enugu, Nigeria, to the late F.O. Nunobi and Susan Young.

Growing up, Chisom demonstrated exceptional academic prowess, particularly in mathematics, earning her the nickname "Miss Hundred" due to her consistent high scores. Despite this achievement, she pursued a different path, joining the Anambra State Volunteers Service, where she discovered her talents in dance, community, and contemporary drama, working alongside Nollywood pioneers like Sydney Diala.

This experience prompted Chisom to alter her academic focus, opting for English literature and the Arts. Later, she became an employee of the Anambra State Education Commission, teaching English language and literature to senior classes. Her career in education was marked by dedication and excellence.

Chisom's life took a new turn when she moved to America to join her husband, who was later deceased. During this time, she had to care for her ill husband, which led her to pursue a career in nursing. She eventually became a registered healthcare professional and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Nursing from a prestigious New York university.

As a registered nurse, Chisom has witnessed numerous cases that have moved her to tears, particularly those involving women who have undergone female genital mutilation. These women often bear scars that make childbirth difficult, and Chisom has seen them suffer from urinary tract infections, menstrual complications, and the spread of HIV/AIDS.

Her experiences as a nurse have inspired her to create a film that educates and exposes the dangers of female genital mutilation, titled "Lost Maiden." Produced by her own production company, Best Icon Productions, Chisom hopes her film will contribute to the eradication of this harmful cultural practice.

In addition to her work on "Lost Maiden," Chisom has appeared in several other films, including "In A Stranger's Arms," "Flying Colors," "Menjiva's Death," and "Ojadili." She has also produced movies such as "Timeless Passion," "Passionate Heart," "Unguarded," and "Flying Colors."

Throughout her career, Chisom has collaborated with top Nollywood artists, including Omotola Kehinde, Ramsey Noah, Uche Jombo, Kalu Ikeagwu, Ngozi Ezeonu, Emen Isong, and many others. Her dedication to her craft and her passion for storytelling have earned her a reputation as a talented filmmaker and artist.
