Chiaki Kuriyama, a renowned Japanese model, entered the world of modeling on October 10, 1984, in the city of Tsuchiura, Japan. Her career flourished during the mid-1990s, a period often referred to as Japan's child model boom.
During this time, Kuriyama gained widespread recognition after featuring in two photo books, Girl of Myth and Girl's Residence, both expertly captured by renowned photographer Kishin Shinoyama in 1997. Girl of Myth, in particular, achieved immense commercial success, becoming a best-seller.
However, in 1999, the publication was discontinued by the publisher due to the introduction of new anti-child pornography laws, which prohibited the depiction of minors in explicit or suggestive content. Despite this setback, Kuriyama continued to model for prominent child fashion magazines, including Nicola & Pichi Lemon.
