Charlotte Ross was born and raised in Winnetka, Illinois, the daughter of Princeton and Harvard graduates. Despite her parents' expectations that she would follow in their footsteps and pursue a career in education, Charlotte's childhood passion for acting and singing led her to take a different path.
From a young age, Charlotte dedicated herself to honing her craft, studying with renowned acting coaches and working at the Second City and Goodman Theater in Chicago. She earned a living with commercial and modeling gigs, and then made the move to Los Angeles after graduating from New Trier High School.
Charlotte's big break came when she landed the role of Eve Donovan on the popular soap opera "Days of Our Lives." She went on to earn two Emmy nominations for her performance and appeared in numerous TV movies, including "A Kiss So Deadly" and "Kidnapped in Paradise."
In the 1990s, Charlotte starred in several TV series, including "The Heights," "ER," and "Trinity." She also released three albums and starred in the critically acclaimed Showtime series "Beggars and Choosers."
Before "Beggars and Choosers" was canceled, Charlotte was approached to replace Kim Delaney on the hit show "NYPD Blue." She took on the role of Detective Connie McDowell and earned praise for her performance, including a nod from the Los Angeles Times.
After five seasons on "NYPD Blue," Charlotte took a break from acting to focus on her personal life. She gave birth to her son Max and spent time as a stay-at-home mom.
Charlotte returned to acting in the mid-2000s, starring in the ABC series "Jake in Progress" and the Lifetime movie "Montana Sky." She has since appeared in a number of other TV shows and films, including "Hit the Floor," "Law & Order," and "Glee."
In addition to her acting career, Charlotte is a passionate animal rights activist and has been involved in several high-profile campaigns, including a PETA ad campaign and lobbying work on Capitol Hill to release chimpanzees from testing labs. She has also been recognized for her fitness advocacy and has even filmed her own fitness video.
Today, Charlotte continues to act, produce, and advocate for various causes. She is a proud single mom to her son Max and is grateful to be living her dream.
