Biography

Charley Rossman is a multi-faceted character actor who has dedicated himself to constantly sharpening his craft. His recent success includes starring in "This Way Up", an AFI/Jeremy Cloe film that received the Academy Award for Best Student Narrative Short.

Charley attended Edgewood High School, followed by the University of La Verne and Whittier College, where he excelled as the ASB President and a gifted athlete, competing in Football and Rugby throughout his college years and even having a cup of coffee in the professional ranks. He also studied on World Campus Afloat, exploring the world while pursuing his education.

One of his notable teachers at Whittier College School of Law was none other than TMZ's Harvey Levin. Charley went on to graduate with both a BA and Juris Doctorate degrees, passing the California Bar exam with flying colors. He then went on to become a successful Lawyer and Civil Litigator, with a short stint in the Public Defenders Office.

Charley is also a proud father of two sons, Bubby Rossman, a pitcher drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2014, and Spencer, a recent graduate of the University of Oregon.

Charley's acting career began in 1992, with a string of action and comedic roles, including stints as part of the Universal Studios Stunt Team, where he mastered the art of performing high falls into wood planks five times a day. He showcased his comedic talents in films such as Superbad, the #1 box office smash, with the catchphrase "Don't do it, kid".

Charley initially gained exposure in the world of soap operas, including a role as the city's mayor in Port Charles. He is known for playing a diverse range of characters, including detectives and tough but lovable authority figures, as seen in Curb Your Enthusiasm, CSI, and The TICK. He has also collaborated with writer/director Lee Citron on multiple projects, including the Student Emmy-winning "Martian American".

Charley's films have had great success on the festival circuit, with multiple nominations including the Windrider and the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival-nominated "Egg" for Best Comedy Short. In 2017, Tribeca also nominated "The Suitcase" for Best Short.
