Charles Mully is an embodiment of selflessness, personifying courage, humility, and unwavering dedication to helping the most vulnerable individuals in society. His life story is a testament to the transformative power of resilience, hard work, and a strong sense of purpose.
Born into a life of uncertainty, Mully was abandoned by his parents at the tender age of six and left to fend for himself on the rough streets of Kenya. Despite the overwhelming challenges he faced, he managed to survive, and at the age of 17, he was taken in by a kind family who provided him with a sense of belonging and stability.
As he grew older, Mully's entrepreneurial spirit and determination enabled him to build a successful business empire in transportation and oil, becoming one of Africa's most prominent entrepreneurs. However, it wasn't until he was 40, with a family of eight children, that he was deeply moved by the plight of the thousands of abandoned and marginalized children and young people struggling to survive on the streets of Kenya and its dangerous slums.
Moved by their plight, Mully made the courageous decision to leave behind his business empire and embark on a journey to create Mully Children's Family (MCF),a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and providing a safe haven for street children, orphans, and vulnerable individuals.
Established in 1989, MCF has grown to become one of the largest and most respected children's rescue, rehabilitation, and development organizations in Kenya and Africa, providing a range of integrated programs, including formal learning centers, sustainability agricultural projects, environmental conservation initiatives, and community education and development projects.
Over the past 28 years, Mully's unwavering commitment to his mission has inspired countless individuals, and his organization has delivered liberating good news and services to vulnerable children and communities, setting them free from the pain and stain of their past and empowering them to become self-reliant, independent professionals and development facilitators.
Today, at the age of 68, Charles Mulli is a man who has refused to turn his back on the most vulnerable members of his country, instead choosing to pass on goodness and inspire others with his selfless acts. His legacy continues to inspire a new generation of leaders and changemakers, including many of his own biological children, who have followed in his footsteps and are helping to carry on his charitable work and legacy of unconditional love.
