Biography

Noted for his captivating good looks and impressive physical prowess, this charismatic thespian embarked on a distinguished acting career during the late silent era, initially thriving as a leading man and subsequently transitioning to the realm of sound films and television.

Born in Illinois, the subject of our biography spent his formative years in Madison, Wisconsin, where he received his education at Madison High School and the University of Wisconsin. His early start in the performing arts began at the tender age of seven, when he made his debut on the stage. He would later go on to hone his craft in various settings, including vaudeville, stock theatre, and the legitimate stage.

The studios took immediate notice of his exceptional physical appearance, captivating charm, and buoyant personality, leading to his signing of his first contract with Fox in 1927 at the age of 20. However, his career began to experience a decline in momentum by 1933, with his roles becoming significantly reduced by 1936. He would go on to play smaller supporting parts and minor roles until his passing from heart disease in 1966.
