Biography

Charles Fitzpatrick, a LaJunta resident, found himself at the epicenter of cinematic history when the iconic film Badlands was shot in his small Colorado hometown. As fate would have it, his son Michael had a chance encounter with none other than Martin Sheen in the city park, where they engaged in a pick-up game of basketball. This serendipitous meeting paved the way for Charles to be introduced to the renowned actor, who subsequently offered him a role as a clerk in the film.

As a seasoned veteran of local play productions and a self-proclaimed movie aficionado, Charles was thrilled to be a part of the project. His family, including his son Michael, was equally excited to be involved, and they soon found themselves mingling with the Sheen family in a more intimate setting.

The Sheens, including Charley, Emilio, Ramon, and Renee, were guests of honor at a dinner party hosted by the Fitzpatrick family at their home. This gathering allowed the two families to bond over their shared passion for film and their experiences working together on Badlands.
