Biography

Chang Cheh, a pioneering figure in Hong Kong's martial arts film industry, has amassed a staggering filmography of nearly one hundred movies, cementing his status as the leading director of his era.

His profound influence can be seen in the work of other notable directors, including John Woo and Liu Chiau Liang, who have all been inspired by Chang's unique vision and style.

Throughout his illustrious career, Chang has been instrumental in launching the careers of several Hong Kong stars, including Phillip Chung-Fung Kwok, Fu Sheng, and Lung Ti, who have all gone on to achieve great success in the industry.

In a remarkable declaration, Chang has announced that he will retire from filmmaking once he has completed his 101st film, bringing an end to a remarkable chapter in his career.

During the 1970s, Chang was the most prolific director at the legendary Shaw Brothers Studios, and his most revered works include the critically acclaimed "Dynasty of Blood" (1973),also known as "Blood Brothers," and the action-packed "Five Deadly Venoms" (1978),also known as "Five Venoms."
