Raymon Lee Cramton, better known as Chad Everett, was born on June 11, 1937, in South Bend, Indiana. As a high school student, he was already fascinated by the world of acting and would often participate in stage plays.
After graduating from Wayne State University, Chad made his way to Hollywood, where he signed a contract with Warner Brothers. He began his acting career with a small role as a deputy in the short-lived television series "The Dakotas" in 1962. However, he didn't stop there and went on to play a number of supporting roles in films such as "Get Yourself a College Girl" (1964) and "Made in Paris" (1966).
Chad's breakthrough role came when he played the title character in "Johnny Tiger" (1966) and "Return of the Gunfighter" (1966). He then landed the role of a lifetime as "Dr. Joe Gannon" in the popular television series "Medical Center" (1969),a role that earned him two Golden Globe nominations.
Following the cancellation of "Medical Center," Chad starred in the mini-series "Centennial" (1978) and played the title role in the television series "Hagen" (1980). In the early 1980s, he appeared in a number of television films, including "The Intruder Within" (1981),and made guest appearances on popular shows such as "The Love Boat" (1977) and "Murder, She Wrote" (1984).
In recent years, Chad has continued to work in the entertainment industry, appearing in films like the remake of "Psycho" (1998) and "Mulholland Drive" (2001). He has also had recurring roles on television shows such as "Manhattan, AZ" (2000) and recently completed a new film with Gwyneth Paltrow, "View from the Top" (2003),which is set to be released.
Chad is married to actress Shelby Grant and they have two daughters together.
