Person biography:
Cassius Corrigan is a rising writer, director, and actor who represents the next generation of multi-hyphenate filmmakers. Born and raised in Miami, he developed a global perspective that informs his filmmaking approach, with a diverse family background including Colombian, Irish, and Lithuanian heritage.
Corrigan discovered the art of cinematic storytelling while on scholarship at the University of Southern California, graduating from its historic film school. He has since made a name for himself in the industry, making his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed film "Huracán" in 2020.
"Huracán" tells the story of an aspiring MMA fighter with Dissociative Identity Disorder, and features a predominantly Latino cast. The film premiered at the 2020 Shanghai Film Festival and was acquired by HBO, set to release on September 11, 2020.
In addition to his work on "Huracán", Corrigan has also wrapped production on the upcoming gangster film "The Birthday Cake", which he co-produced and 1st AD'd. He has also been involved in television projects, including an original international MMA series set in Brazil, under the mentorship of "Entourage" creator Doug Ellin.
Corrigan is a passionate mixed martial artist who has created documentary content for Conor McGregor, and is dedicated to creating breakthrough global content for the fast-growing sport of MMA, as well as empowering Latino voices and stories through cinema. He resides in Los Angeles and Miami.
