Born in Paris, France, Ms. Ducrocq received her Baccalaureate in Philosophy, Latin, and Greek. She was awarded the Henry Rollan Prize for Acting and chose to expand her acting knowledge in New York.
She enrolled at the H.B. Studios and subsequently graduated with a BFA from the Theatre Program at the NYU School of the Arts in 1971.
Ms. Ducrocq joined the Working Theatre company in NYC, founded by Kristin Linklater, Joe Chaikin, and Peter Kass, in 1974. Funded by CBS, the Mellon and other American foundations, the company was dedicated to the theater of great texts, from Shakespeare to Beckett.
She taught acting full-time at NYU School of the Arts from 1978 to 1981, participating in Manhattan's avant-garde theater scene as an actress, and creating and operating a private acting studio, Tomorrow's Performing Artists.
Ms. Ducrocq directed several productions in NYC, including The Maids, The Seagull, Beckett's Short Stories, and Robert Dunn's The Folon Exhibition. She also directed theater workshops in prisons, such as the House of Detention in Queens and Westchester.
In 1980-81, she co-directed The Tempest and Richard III at the Canadian National Theatre of Ottawa.
Since moving to Los Angeles in 1981, Ms. Ducrocq has produced and directed three theatrical productions in Hollywood, including Family Snapshots by Sam Henry Kass, Scratch by James Abbit, and Moliere's The Misanthrope, which won five NAACP Annual Theatre Awards.
Ms. Ducrocq has also produced and directed her first film, a half-hour short entitled The Deli of the Lord, and completed a variety of film courses at UCLA.
She has adapted one of Chester Himes' novels, "The Lunatic Fringe," for the screen and has been active in the USA and France, serving as a consultant and script doctor, coaching actors, and performing a bilingual poetry recital for English-speaking audiences.
Ms. Ducrocq has coached many actors, including Val Kilmer, Tyrese Gibson, Djimon Hounsou, CcH Pounder, Lynn Whitfield, Morris Chestnut, and many others.
Recent credits include acting coach on BLACK NATIVITY, consultant and credited screenwriter for Strangers in Paris, director-staged reading for Alain Foix's Duel D'Ombres, and acting coach for Tête Grénée, Ruby Bridges, and Les Marriés de l'Ile Bourbon.
Ms. Ducrocq has also worked as a script consultant for Waist Deep, acting consultant for a writer/actor/director one-week workshop, and taught at EICAR film school, NYU film school, and SUNY Purchase University.
She is currently an adjunct teacher at NYU TISCH film school and acting teacher at SUNY Purchase University.
