Caroline Bossi, a Philadelphia native, embarked on her entertainment industry journey at a tender age. Her early beginnings in the world of ballet, specifically a dramatic voice over performance of Chim Chim Cheree from Mary Poppins, instilled in her an unwavering passion for the arts.
After dedicating more than eight years to the study of ballet, a sudden 5-inch growth spurt brought an abrupt end to her aspirations of becoming a professional ballerina. However, her nearly 6-foot height proved to be a blessing in disguise, propelling her into the world of modeling.
With the guidance of an agent in Philadelphia, Caroline's modeling career took off, with assignments in Europe and New York following suit. She eventually made New York her home base for a period of time. A two-week vacation to Los Angeles, however, would prove to be a pivotal turning point in her career.
Her first audition in L.A. culminated in her first booking, which had a domino effect on her career. Her unique exotic look, coupled with her zany sense of humor, made her a favorite among commercial and video casting directors. She would later relocate to Europe, where her career experienced a meteoric rise.
Throughout her journey, Caroline honed the valuable skill of navigating foreign languages, learning to ask for directions and order from menus in seven languages. Despite appearing in dozens of TV commercials, magazines, and advertisements, Caroline is perhaps most renowned for her work as the "music video girl" of the early 1990s.
Fans may recognize her from iconic music videos such as Guns 'N Roses' "Don't Cry," Van Halen's "Poundcake," and her memorable appearance as the "skinny white model" in Sir-Mix-A-Lot's "Baby's Got Back." Although this may not be a nod from the Academy, it is certainly a fun tidbit to bring up at cocktail parties.
Today, Caroline resides in Los Angeles, California with her husband Doug.
