Carol Kottenbrook, a talented actress and producer, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1949. Her remarkable journey in the Hollywood film industry began at the esteemed Company of Angels Theater in Los Angeles, where she initially made a name for herself as an actress.
However, her career soon took a significant turn as she transitioned to production, accumulating an impressive array of credits along the way. Notably, she worked as a Production Coordinator on MGM's "Wicked Stepmother," a Production Supervisor on the film "Survival Quest," and a Unit Production Manager on "Relentless."
As her experience and expertise grew, Carol began producing films independently, starting with the Sony Pictures/Screen Gems theatrical release "The Covenant," which became a number one hit at the box office. She went on to produce a string of successful films, including "8mm2" for Sony Pictures, shot on location in Budapest, Hungary, and Columbia TriStar Pictures "Sniper2," "Sniper3," and "True Blue" starring Tom Berenger.
Carol's production company, Sandstorm Films, was responsible for a wide range of films, including the Sci-Fi Channel and Columbia TriStar premiere movie "Alien Hunter" starring James Spader, Columbia TriStar Pictures "Outside Ozona," and Republic Pictures "Black Day Blue Night." Prior to establishing Sandstorm Films, Carol produced several notable films, including "Shadowhunter" starring Scott Glenn and Benjamin Bratt for Republic Films, "Exit in Red" with Mickey Rourke for Showtime, "A Climate for Killing" starring Katharine Ross for Propaganda Films and Fox, and the Paramount Pictures release "Shadowzone" starring Louise Fletcher.
Throughout her illustrious career, Carol has worked with her writer-director husband, J. S. Cardone, on several projects. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Political Science from Northern Arizona University.
