Carol Damgen, a multifaceted artist, was born in Amarillo, Texas, to a family with a rich cultural heritage, her father being an American military personnel and her mother of British descent.
A classically trained thespian, Carol has garnered numerous accolades for her exceptional acting, playwriting, direction, and costume design skills, earning a Master of Fine Arts degree in Writing for the Performing Arts from the University of California, Riverside, and a graduate degree from UCLA's Theatre, Film and Television Professional Program.
Throughout her illustrious career, Carol has had the privilege of performing in a diverse range of productions, from timeless classics such as Julius Caesar, Romeo and Juliet, and A Flea in her Ear to contemporary works like The Elephant Man, Other Desert Cities, One Man, Two Guvnors, The Mercy Seat, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, and Circle Mirror Transformation.
Carol's impressive repertoire has earned her regional recognition for her outstanding work in acting, playwriting, and direction. As a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the Dramatists Guild, she has been actively involved in the theatrical community, and her dedication to her craft has been recognized through numerous awards and nominations.
Currently, Carol serves as the Chair for the National Playwriting Program for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival-Region VIII, a prestigious position that reflects her commitment to nurturing emerging talent and promoting excellence in the performing arts.
