Carlos was born in Panama, a country rich in culture and history, and later relocated to Saline, Michigan, a charming city in the United States, when he was just 8 years old. As a young student, he demonstrated exceptional academic prowess, graduating high school on the esteemed Honor Roll. This achievement qualified him for an elite Michigan State University program for highly gifted students, where he pursued a Pre-Med track.
In addition to his academic accomplishments, Carlos was an accomplished martial artist, serving as Captain of the Martial Arts team for two years. He holds high-level black belts in Judo, Tae Kwon Do, and Jujitsu, and is also an expert in martial arts weaponry.
However, a sports injury at the age of 19 led to a significant change in Carlos' life. He was ordered to undergo rehabilitation through the study of ballet, a discipline that would eventually become a vital part of his career. Upon graduating from university, Carlos made the unexpected decision to forego medical school and pursue a career as a dancer on Broadway.
His debut as a principal with Ballet Folklorico was a groundbreaking moment in his career, and he soon received his breakthrough role singing and dancing in "House of Flowers" alongside the legendary Patti LaBelle, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Geoffrey Holder.
Carlos then made the bold decision to relocate to Hollywood, where he pursued television and feature film acting. His talent quickly paid off with breakthrough roles in projects such as Baywatch (1989),King of New York (1990),Stargate (1994),and Spy Hard (1996).
However, Carlos took a hiatus from acting to focus on raising his son, Joshua, and to pursue his passion for writing. He co-wrote a dozen feature film screenplays, covering a range of genres from Live Action/Fantasy to Superhero/Sci-Fi to Psychological Thriller/Romance.
Carlos also produced and starred in the highly-praised independent feature film Sutures (2009),which was distributed worldwide and featured on platforms such as RedBox, Netflix, and Showtime. Throughout his career, Carlos has demonstrated his versatility, talent, and dedication to his craft.
