Carlos Carrasco is a multi-talented individual from Panama City, Panamá, with a diverse background in the entertainment industry. He began his educational journey at Junior College in the former American Canal Zone, where he earned an acting scholarship to Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. This was followed by a Master's degree in Speech from the University of Illinois and a three-year acting fellowship at Wayne State University, where he was a member of their resident classical repertory company.
Carrasco's professional acting career took off in New York, where he made his Broadway debut in the Circle in the Square's production of The National Health alongside Rita Moreno. He then went on to perform in numerous regional theaters, including the Hartford Stage Company, Atlanta's Alliance Theater, and the Los Angeles Mark Taper Forum.
In addition to his extensive stage work, Carrasco has also made a name for himself in television, commercials, voice-overs, and films. His film credits include the blockbuster hit Speed, as well as roles in major cult classics like Blood In & Blood Out and Parker, starring Jason Statham. He has also appeared in Crocodile Dundee II and The Fisher King.
On television, Carrasco has had recurring roles on popular shows such as HBO's Looking and Insecure, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek Voyager, Parks and Recreation, ER, and SeaQuest 2032. He has also acted under the direction of renowned directors John Frankenheimer and William Friedkin in projects like The Burning Season (HBO) and the 200th episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
As a director and producer, Carrasco has worked on several award-winning short films, including One, Honesty, Pencil Rose, and Disarm. He has also produced the documentary short Art Galleries & Back Alleys, which showcases the work of the artists collective Self-Help Graphics in Boyle Heights.
In his free time, Carrasco enjoys playing the guitar, attending jam sessions, and listening to the blues and Bruce.
