Carl's journey in the entertainment industry began in Detroit, where he worked in the music business before making the bold decision to leave law school and pursue acting in Los Angeles in 1980. Under the guidance of renowned acting coach Stella Adler, Carl honed his craft in the early 1980s, and later expanded his skills through training with William Chow of the Peking Opera from 1984 to 1986.
Throughout his career, Carl has appeared in an impressive 19 stage plays, including a standout one-man show where he played both characters, showcasing his remarkable versatility. He has also acted in 36 student films and participated in over 200 showcases within a remarkable 400-day period.
In the late 1980s, Carl began assisting at a small technical artists agency, before going on to purchase the company and build Montana Artists Agency, representing a global network of 450 film and television technical artists from 1989 to 2004. He eventually sold the company, and since then has continued to pursue his passion for acting, often taking on guest roles as an older actor in acting classes.
In addition to his love of acting, Carl has a strong entrepreneurial spirit, with a particular interest in ventures that promote charitable and social good. He is also drawn to senior executive challenges in the entertainment industry, and has a wealth of experience in this area.
Carl is a proud single father to a handsome champion rower son, and although he is open to new romantic prospects, he is not currently in a relationship. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, having visited an impressive 45 countries so far.
