Evrenol's journey began in Istanbul, where he developed a passion for the arts from a young age. He went on to pursue his academic interests in Film Studies and Art History at the University of Kent at Canterbury, laying the foundation for his future endeavors.
As he honed his craft, Evrenol became a prolific independent filmmaker, writing, directing, and producing a series of short horror films that earned him widespread recognition and numerous international awards. His impressive body of work also caught the attention of festival programmers, with his films being officially selected to over 40 international genre film festivals around the world.
Evrenol's feature film debut, Baskin, premiered at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival's Midnight Madness section in 2015. This critically acclaimed film was actually based on his earlier short film of the same title, released in 2013. The feature-length version of Baskin went on to receive widespread acclaim, with Evrenol himself being awarded the Best Director honor at the Austin Fantasticfest's New Wave Awards.
