Caitlin Dulany's early life was marked by a rich cultural environment, shaped by her family's residency in various cities, including Iowa City, Iowa, Kennybunk, Maine, and Brooklyn, New York. Her father, Harris Dulany, a novelist and poet, was a graduate student at the esteemed Iowa Writer's Workshop at the time of her birth, while her mother, Barry Dulany, was a teacher at St. Ann's School in Brooklyn Heights.
The family's Brooklyn brownstone, located in the Fort Greene section, served as a hub for artists of various disciplines, including filmmakers, photographers, and writers. This eclectic environment instilled in Caitlin a deep appreciation for the arts, which would later influence her own creative pursuits.
At the tender age of 14, Caitlin embarked on her professional journey, landing a role in a play at Ensemble Studio Theatre in Manhattan. Following her graduation from Northwestern University, she pursued a career in acting, dividing her time between New York and Los Angeles.
