Biography

Born in Santa Monica, California, to a family deeply rooted in the entertainment industry, Bruce Winant is the son of esteemed character actor H.M. Wynant and Emmy Hall of Fame inductee Ethel Winant, a network executive. His brother, Scott Winant, is a producer and director, while his brother, William Winant, is a new music percussionist.

Bruce has made a significant mark on the Broadway stage, having appeared in numerous productions, including "An American in Paris", "La Cage Aux Folles" (2011 revival),"The Phantom of the Opera", "Fiddler on the Roof" (2004 revival),"Chicago", "Ragtime", "Miss Saigon", "My Favorite Year", and the original Los Angeles cast of "Les Miserables". He has also toured nationally with productions of "Chicago", "Phantom of the Opera", and "La Cage Aux Folles".

In addition to his Broadway credits, Bruce has appeared off-Broadway in roles such as Pasquale in "The Most Happy Fella" with the New York City Opera, Al Jolson in "Jolson and Company", and in regional theaters across the country.

Bruce has also had a successful career in film and television, with recurring roles on the NBC series "First Years" (2001) and "Law & Order" (1990). Furthermore, he is a co-founder, along with Dann Fink, of one of the top "loop groups" in New York, "The Dann + Bruce Co."

Throughout his career, Bruce has been featured on various recordings, including "Les Miserables the Complete Symphonic Recording" (which earned a Grammy Award),"The Complete Miss Saigon", "Lucky Stiff", and the original cast recordings of "Fiddler", "Ragtime" (which received a Grammy nomination),and "My Favorite Year".

Bruce Winant resides in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, with his wife Kristin and their two children, Arden Winant and Jayce Winant.
